Oxford 76JEN006 1/76 Jensen 541R Old English White/Connaught Green

The unusual colour scheme of Old English White body and a deep green masked roof adds even more elegance to the Jensen 541 R which the British company made between 1957 and 1960. The designer Eric Noble developed the closed, two-door, four seater GT class car which was unveiled in London four years before its production. Its light weight was due to a fibreglass body which in turn gave it a top speed of 125 mph. For its sixth Oxford outing, it is registered VLC 207 and in contrast to its dark green masked roof, the interior is a soft shade of green. The exterior trim is extensively silver, right down to the petrol cap and the impressive 541R badge is designed within a chrome circle on the front of the radiator grille.

Quite a car, though sadly short-lived.
