HobbyBoss 84842 1/48 German Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf.J Medium Tank

The Panzer IV was a medium tank produced by Germany during World War II. It was originally designed to support infantry and to cooperate with the Panzer III tank, which was designed to attack armored forces. When the overall performance of the Panzer III tank was not enough for armored combat in the middle of World War II, the Panzer IV tank was converted into a main battle tank for use by armored divisions because the technology used was more mature and had more room for improvement than the Panzer III tank. At this time, the quality of the Panzer IV tank was better than most Allied tanks, and it was even called the Panzer IV Special by Allied soldiers. The large room for improvement of the Panzer IV tank also made it frequently modified, becoming the most widely used tank, including assault guns, self-propelled anti-tank guns, ammunition transport vehicles, bridge-laying tanks, etc. From the beginning of the war to the end of World War II, Germany had produced more than 8,800 Panzer IV tanks or their modified versions. The Panzer IV tank participated in almost all battles and was extremely reliable. It did not have a large number of technical problems like the early models of the Panther tank. It was nicknamed "War Horse" by the German armored soldiers. In addition to being used by Germany itself, the Panzer IV tank was also exported to other countries, and even after the end of World War II, some countries still used it in wars.
